Just 30 miles from Birmingham and 27 miles from Gloucester, the cathedral city of Worcester, with it’s easy access to the M5, offers an ideal location for your next home. Worcester has a very interesting history dating way back to 400BC. Later the Romans moved in and developed pottery kilns and ironworks using the charcoal supplied from the nearby Forest of Dean. The Normans were the next major power to take control, building a new castle (nothing remains of this though). Indeed many battles and rebellions have taken place here. All in all, it is a very interesting place to live.

The population is now around 104,000 and still growing, no doubt due to the excellent employment opportunities amongst the remaining manufacturing companies like Worcester Bosch or Yamazaki (to mention just two), or the range of leisure and entertainment activities.

The fact that the city is so well placed, being close enough to cities like Birmingham (with its airport and rail connections) and Gloucester, as well as the River Severn and the picturesque scenery to the south (including the Cotswolds), no doubt also comes into play here.


There are three train stations, two in the centre – Foregate Street and Shrub Hill, with Worcestershire Parkway at its edge. These offer regular services to Birmingham, Droitwich Spa, Stourbridge, Hereford, Pershore and Evesham. There is also a good local bus service.

Road wise Worcester is well connected, the M5 being easily accessible, with London being only 118 miles away (using the A4, A40 and M40/M25). Evesham, Leominster, Tewksbury, Droitwich, Hereford and Bromsgrove are all easily reached.
